HID in spyder Headlights

I have a pair of spyder headlights for my 2011 Camaro. I want to put HID's in them, I've watched a video of this being done on a FRS and talked about on the G6 Forums. Has anyone done it on their Camaro headlights? If so what bulb size did you use, and do you have any tips for the install. The only worry I have is HID's are longer than halogen bulbs and would hate to accidentally hit my projector lens.

Those headlights take H7 bulbs. No, it should not hit the projector lens, and make sure they are 35W. More power and you'll run the risk of melting the housing. My only tip is to remove the headlight for the install.

Don't remove the head light that's a waste of time, open the back switch out the bulb get an h7 relay harness and your good to go I've been tuning this on my h7 headlights shown in the pic above for over a year, projector retrofit before that they won't melt anything

The cool looking round ring on each model, uses a different style of light bulb to achieve the same effect.

One is an LED, which requires less power and provides a great strong light

One is a CCFL which stands for Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lights. They are older technology, and require more power, so usually require an inverter to not melt anything, however they provide a nice "glow" as opposed to just looking like a ring light.

I sent an email to spyder and the told me:

PRO-YD-CCAM2010-CCFL-BK is a ccfl model which is brighter than the LED
model. This is a gas filled ring powered by a power inverter box

PRO-YD-CCAM2010-HL- is a LED halo model which is a fiber optic halo that
lets the light travel from the bottom to the top of the ring".

I asked if I can use their headlights on my 2010 SS with factory HID (D1S) and they said: "Unfortunately we do not have any options for the factory HID model at this
time.".

Any ideas about putting this headlights on my car?

Now my car has Oracle headlights and fog kit with white turn signals:

How are the Spyder headlights holding up?

I have a 2010 2SS without the RS package. I'm looking for RS-style halo headlights built well and not going to leak condensation or fall apart after a few years. My goal is to have the halos come on with the parking lights (first click of the knob) and have NO LIGHTS on for aftermarket light control (by default on the non-RS cars, the low beams come on automatically with the car and no one knows how to disable it).

I'd probably go for an LED ring since it sounds like it's a better product overall. I'll avoid CCFL.
