Considering Meth, opinions welcomed!
So far I'm pretty happy with my setup, but want to see if I can squeeze a bit more out of it.
Power Mods: P1SC-1 @ 7.8psi (4.0 pulley) 1 7/8 LT Headers Fuel: ZL1 Pump + ADM FPCM + DEKA 107962 Injectors + ZR1 MAP Motor: Completely stock LS3 I am currently at ~545rwhp @ 6400rpm | 7.8psi /w 93 fuel and ~585rwhp /w 100 fuel. But my IAT's are on the high 160's I am considering (well, I am past considering, i *want* it and *getting it* ) adding a Meth Kit not only as protection/cooling the charge, but also to grab a few more ponies in the process. Would hoping for ~600rwhp on 93 be too wild of a hope or 625-640rwhp on 100 fuel. I keep hearing good things about the Alky Meth Kit, and was hoping to pair it with the AIS Trunk Tank (if I can find a vendor that would sell me this mix as a kit) Questions: Would I need a single or dual nozzle? Would it better / simpler / safer to run it from MAF or from Boost? Would the best setup be Supercharger > Intercooler > Meth > IAT > TB? Any benefit of going full meth vs a mix with water? |

ALKY two nozzle setup with map/boost activated. nozzles have to be after the MAF.

a dual will work but would probably be overkill for your situation. have it come on at a set boost level, post maf and make sure to run an iat sensor post meth nozzle.
go Supercharger/intercooler/maf/meth/iat/tb we carry the full ecs line so could set you up if you want. |

I am running AEM meth kit with one 550cc nozzle on a progressive boost switch - starts ~4psi -> full flow @ 10psi
it brought my IAT's from over 200+ degrees in 90degree weather down to 130 at the most. But when weather is around 70 degree i was seeing about 80-90 degree IAT's. my car before meth produced 622whp/598tq next year i will be running a second nozzle as i will be shooting for over 900whp

cylinder 7 gave up on me at the track so i am in the process of rebuilding the motor. Most likely going with stock displacement and stock crank with all forged internals. The plan is to run ~16psi on the street and ~20psi at the track.

I heart Meth. I made 825rwhp at 15# with a Ysi before meth. I added meth, cam, and 5# of boost. I don't know what I make now but it is more. Car isn't tuned for meth, just there as a safety factor.
However, I am changing to twin turbos and keeping the meth. I am hoping to hit 4 digits on rwhp before I break something. I have an alky control kit with dual M10 nozzles and using their 4 gallon trunk kit. Here is a pic of the tank. Install wasn't completely done when taken but that is where it sits. There is no sight reservoir to see how much is in it but it comes with a red LED that lights up when low because it comes with a low lever sensor. The white LED changes illuminates red as meth is being pumped and changes to green with fully pressurized and pumping. If I am not under boost and there is plenty of meth in the tank, neither come on. Last edited by blake-b; 07-24-2013 at 03:42 PM. |

Alky Control is the way to go. You only want a single nozzle for that power level. If you call Julio at Alky Control he will answer all your questions, and he knows his stuff.

Do it once and put two nozzles incase you go with more hp in the future. EVERY boosted car we do has two nozzles. The alky kit has a gain knob on it. Just because you run two nozzles doesnt mean you have to over spray it. As always its in the tune.

+1 and Julio custom builds his kits to your specs, so no need to get another brand trunk tank. I'm at 707 rwhp and the ALKY kit is the shit!

Yeah...Alky Control. For sure. Ask Julio about single vs dual...he will be straight up and tell you what you need.
