Questions about body parts and track session video (the ridge motorsport park - WA)

Hello folks,

By running on track it happens to get some small rock chip and/or other minor imperfections on body... so I was wondering if you have any hint on how to get a front bumper, a front lip and a rocker panel (driver's side).

In exchange for reading this message, here's an entire session from 2days ago. Laps are nothing special but I'm happy about my consistency where there's no traffic.
My lines are quite still all over the place but I've learned a lot, after recording video, from some instructors. Next time I will do better.

the LS7 soundtrack still remains glorious

If you open video in youtube you have chapters for each lap so that's easier to skip around the video

Lips/rockers/bumpers will get chewed up.
Pretty much why they make PPF/track armor.

All those are discontinued so ebay, FB marketplace, etc.
Anderson composites make carbon part replacements. Other ChinesE knock offs available for splitters.

Wish you were close to the east coast as I have most of what you need gently used or even new. I know we have messaged on Facebook before.
Good luck on your search.

Clear wrap the car. I wouldn’t be tracking a car without that at the bare minimum

Camaro Heaven, I definitely agree with you. You have a lot of stuff that I would have bought from you if it wasn't for impossible shipping costs.

As for everyone that suggests PPF and other creative ways of coating... have you tried it on track? have you been hit by a rock at 140mph? Are you sure your "shield" actually does anything in those conditions?

Have you touched a tall curb with your lip at 100mph? did the PPF save your lip from scratches?

I got a rock chip on my bumper on a track day and then went and had PPF installed. Haven't noticed any deep impact ones lately. I do about 5 days a year, with very minimal street driving. My bumper, lip, headlights, hood, and extractor are all protected. Then I had them do the lower half of the sides of the car to protect some of the door, and especially the gills from what our tires throw

since this forum is slow anyway, here's a video from the last trackday at pacific Raceways.
It's a track that is really not suited to the Z/28 as it is quite bumpy. You can see that from the helmet camera.

Rocks can go through it. And it will tear the wrap, but it will save your paint or your headlight.

Can either have the hole trimmed or replace the section. It saved a $800 headlight for me. And it also keeps plastic from being damaged by uv.

If you care about the paint on your car it should have good clear PPF on it. Keeps it from getting rock chips.

I track my Z/28 fairly often and wear the rock chips and marks with pride. Its a track car, she looks good with some war wounds. The black duct tape over the cracked hole in my splitter from punting a cone looks particularly tough

In the end I had the entire body fixed and put my car up for sale :(

I decided to focus on my racing alfa and do actual racing instead of track days.
Post is on this forum in the right section.
