Lap at Pacific Raceways - Seattle (WA)

for you , silent folks, another lap at a track I don't like much: Pacific Raceways.
Had to go there as part of the process to get a license.

The M2 I was chasing had nankang CRS 200TW while I had Continental 340TW... I had definitely less grip than him in corners. Also I was not trying hard and still did some decent lap.

Hope you enjoy.

yeah, I was forced to get to that track as it was part of the process to get my racing license... I really don't like going there because of 2 reasons: 1/ car has basically no runway so you will hit the wall at almost any mistake and 2/ it's an old track where the tree roots are under the tarmac and it creates insane bumps. The z28 is too stiff and too powerful for that track, so I took it easy.

may people crash on the straights too due to the bumps :(

Can you share some details about obtaining your racing license? What type of license is it?

I'm looking to slowly start my into this. I am a complete newb, will probably start with autocross and lesser/affordable car.

I'm not an expert on this but I'll share what I know.
First of all I'm planning to race in classic car categories (I have a 1966 Alfa Romeo GTV) with SOVREN , maybe in future I'll extend to other races within SVRA.

In Seattle there's a racing school called https://proformanceracingschool.com/ which has a 2 day program that will give you a racing license for various organizations: SCCA, ICSCC, and SOVREN.

It basically gives you the license to start racing with them.
I'm taking it "slow" and follow each step, even if they are not needed. As example I've done a https://proformanceracingschool.com/...with-coaching/ which gives you a "sport license" which is nothing related to racing but it is used by various track laps organizations to place you in advanced groups directly, without requiring you to start from beginner/novice.

I'd recommend to reach out to the closest racing school and ask them what to do if you want to start racing, they will be the best ones to know all the details about the organizations that you plan to join.

hope this helps.
