Exclamation Squeal / Whistle in front end, louder when engine revved

Hello, I currently own a 2012 SS covertible camaro. The last few times I have driven it, I notice a squeal/whistle in the front end. Sounds like a belt? and it gets louder if I rev it up! Any idea's of what it could be. Less than 5,000 miles on the camaro. Also, I removed factory airbox and put in a different one do I have to put the factory one back in if I take it in for service...will it void the warranty by not have factory airbox? thanks!

Intake won't void your warranty.

Is everything with your intake secured properly (mainly the pipes), that could be part of it.

Is it a squeal, or is it a whistle? Different sounds.

When I see "whistle" I read "vacuum leak"

It is a squeel. Seemds like it is by the a.c. but real difficult yo tell for sure....it sometimes goes away after engine is warmed....

Pop the hood get a buddy to rev it and have a look yourself. Just a thought if you haven't tried that yet, you might see something.

Thanks everyone I found that the ac belt was actually split in two...took it to the dealer for replacement.all seems good so far! They measured clearances, and all seems to be in order....we shall see!

The harmonic balancer had to be replaced on my car after it ate two AC compressor belts.

I get a little noise when the AC is on, its similar to a steering pump but barely audible and I only hear it when the rpms are high just before a gear change in 1st and 2nd.

A/C Belt is the most common whistle under the hood, do like others suggested and open the hood while someone punches the gas and look for the culprit

I heard a whistling and I checked it out. It was my A/C belt coming off the pulley. After taking it to chevy several times, they replaced the pulley. Everything was done under warranty and I have an intake. I'm also tuned, but I changed back to stock when I took it in.
