2014 2LT / RS Summit White – Building of the Boss
2014 2LT / RS Summit White – Building of the Boss. Hey Everybody. I thought having a build thread would be a great way for me to show the progress of my car. I have always wanted to get a second Camaro – my first one was a white 1982 Berlinetta with T-Tops that leaked like crazy no matter what. I was in high school and the car was over 10 years old and I loved every second of it. The time came where I had to part with her and it was a sad day. But I knew one day I would return to the Camaro owners group. I was not a fan of the 4th gens – it was a good looking car but not what I pictured a Camaro should look like. Then the 5th gens came out and I was in love again – but circumstances prevented me from getting one in the first few years of this generation. I am a family man now and the time came where I needed a new car but not having a car for the family I purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid in January of 2013. I love that car, but can’t really be free in it, and I always noticed when I was passed by a Camaro. Well I was lucky enough to get another car in the same year I knew it was time for a return to my first car – I wanted a Camaro. I had a choice between getting a really good deal on a 2013 or pay more for a 2014. I looked at both cars in great detail trying to make the choice between two great cars. I finally decided on the 2014 because I liked the more aggressive look in front and back and I fell in love with the tail lights. I had to return to a clean, white car. After looking at the options I decided to opt for a 2LT / RS and have not looked back since. I had fun making my first Camaro mine thru what mods I could afford being in high school and could not wait to get to work on my car to make her even more mine. So that is where this thread comes into play, there will not be anything over-the-top or extreme here. So have fun following me along on my journey as a Camaro owner doing what we love to do… I had custom ordered my car because I wanted what I wanted – not what they had on the lot. When I first laid eyes on her she still had her wrapping on her and was pretty dirty as they were not expecting me for another two days, but I could not wait to see her. I had to have her that day -I had to be at work in less than 2 hours, but I did not care. I was taking her home THAT DAY. I purchased my Camaro at Bob Stall Chevrolet in La Mesa, CA. I had nothing but an amazing experience with Mo who was my salesman and Billy who is the sales manager. They did everything they could to be sure I was happy and taken care of. Two really big thumbs up to these guys and to Bob Stall Chevy. Last edited by fussboss; 10-12-2013 at 04:42 AM. |

First thing I had to do is get her tinted. Less than 24 hours of ownership I was down at San Diego Tint who tinted my other car and did an amazing job. 35% on everything but the front window. Dark enough to get some tint but light enough (I hope) to keep the cops happy… time will tell on this. San Diego Tint did and AMAZING job. I could not be happier with the job they did and get compliments on them on both cars all the time and have sent my friends their way. If you are in San Diego I would check them out. But the car looks sleeker with the tint and really does look very nice.

After I got her tinted I wanted to get some pics of her. I took her over to La Jolla and snapped lots and lots of pics of her. Here are some of the different angles of the her… At this point the only mod is the tinted windows.
I just love this car...

My next step was to look at the calipers on the car. I looked at options and weighed the pros and cons of going different directions with this and decided to get MGP Caliper Covers for my car. And I am very, very happy with this decision. MGP is local to me so I had them put the covers on the car which is good for me because having somebody else do it for me is better than me doing it lol. This also gave me a chance to go down and check out the factory! It was such a nerd moment for me to drive my car into the factory and see the covers being made. Everybody was very nice, I was told it would take about an hour to get them on but it took less than 20 minutes lol. I still had the chance to poke around the factory and I was really impressed with everything. I love the look the covers give – I like the fact they are BIG ad easy to see and they really do pop out. This is EXACTLY what I wanted and was happy I could get these put on my car. I have got many compliments on them and often catch people looking at them as I drive. But the best part is catching my reflection on a car and seeing how they look while the car is in motion.
Here are before and after pics, as well as some of the factory itself. Again - thank you to everybody over at MGP -- http://www.calipercovers.com/
