I've put the cardboard on each side, and then wrapped the tires themselves with a tarp to protect them from UV.

How many wheels/tires you guys put in them? I have 5, thinking 4 might be better?

It doesn't have the "tire rack" stickers!

They are extra mass, so they actually reduce the capacity.
