Plug gap expanding?

I gapped my plugs at .030 and after about 3-4k miles I pulled the plugs and they were at about .070. Is it normal for the plug gap to expand that much in such a short period of time? This has happened twice now with 2 sets of plugs. See sig for list of mods. Thanks

Oh and on a side note, I regapped them again after I pulled the car out of storage and the car was running great for a few hundred miles. Then it started idling rough, surging, and wanting to die at stoplights with the stabilitrak message, etc. The only codes popping up are 0455 and 0443 which I believe are due to the removal of the EVAP stuff. I know the 0455 has always been there, but not sure about the 0443.

At 600hp, I'd go to the TR6 or TR6IX's and see if that helps. Ive never had a problem with them.

It is a spark plug Temp issue which can be effected by tuning, boost, fuel, and heat range of plugs.

I would start with NGK TR7IX and a good set of MSD wires.

Then check the tuning, timing knock and Lambda at WOT.

Sorry I missed it but it is still a Plug Temperature issue, the ground strap is getting too hot due to tuning or combo or fuel or all of the above.

Thanks for the tips. I probably will go ahead and get some better wires. Also, aren't the TR7's colder than the TR6s? Wouldn't I want to stay with the colder plug since the plugs are already getting too hot?

Yes TR7 are colder than TR6.

Like I said something is not right with your combo to be causing that.

I see you have a WB. What's it doing under WOT and cruise? Are all the plugs doing this or just a couple?

I think I figured out the issue with it running poorly. I used a new gap tool and I must have done it wrong cause the gap was way too tight on the 2 plugs I checked with my old tool. The ground strap was white on both of them as well. I'm just going to replace all of the plugs when I do the wires.

As for the gap widening issue, that was happening on all of them.
