That would make a better return for the Chevy Citation.

That car evolved over time from the Chevelle. If they want to revive the car, they should at least make it look like one.

No, you missed my point, when the Malibu was brought back in 97 it looked nothing like it did when it went out of production in 83, it evolved from 97 to the point it is today. Just because they use the same name over does not mean it has to look similar to the way it did before. Each generation of Chevelle/ Malibu had its own look. The 66 looked nothing like a 64, a 68 looked nothing like a 67, a 73 looked nothing like a 72. The last car to carry the Chevelle name was the 1977 and that nameplate was on a tiny badge on the right rear. At least it was on my 76.

This custom Chevelle was made by Aloha Auto. They took brand new Pontiac GTO and Chevellefied its body. HRSS454 Chevelle is powered by asphalt-chewing 600 HP engine. Our guess is that most of Chevelle enthusiasts would vote for not continuing Aloha’s planned 40 unit run…
Let’s hope that Chevelle transformations will be much better in the future or Chevelle will be revealed by Chevrolet themselves in near 2011 or 2012.

I see what you mean.

I look at the newer Malibu like I look at the Dart. They needed a new FWD car and just used an established name to get it off the ground faster. The look of the Chevelle changed over time but it wasn't like the Camaro where they had nothing in common.

Well they never should have introduced the SS as it's own model. Should have been a Chevelle w/ a SS option... like the old days.

I believe we will see a Chevelle model again someday.

If they build a LWB Alpha 2 door and 4 door Chevelle to go along with the CTS and use it to replace the SS, that might make a better business case but I guess we have to wait and see.

As long as the Chevelle has a 2-door option, that's crucial.

It needs to have the same body profile and styling cues as the 1970, similar to how the 1969 was used as inspiration for the Gen5 Camaro.

A modern Chevelle would look nice parked next to my 70.
