I'm not saying it will be a slouch, just that I don't see it losing much, if any, weight.

- 2.2" wider front track
- 3" wider rear track
- Wheel and tire sizes from C6 ZR1
- 3 levels, with varying degrees of aero downforce, with the Z07 version having more d/f than any production car GM's tested in their wind tunnel
- Compact 1.7L supercharger capable of 20,000 rpm and 9.5 psi of boost
- Pre-production versions set lap records @ Milford, beating ZR1 lap times

Stay tuned for the NAIAS reveal... http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-z0..._autoshow_0114

CF torque tube could be a huge win. To get AFM to work the torque tube went to steel for the C7. But also guess that will also be ¥£€$.

The part that makes me wonder is with the Z06 going F/I, where does that leave future Z/28 development? Could 2014-2015 be the return and last true Z/28?

Lol, you even scooped the 'Vette C7 Z06 forum, none of that is there. Well done

Looks to be an incredibly tasty spec, no doubt. I'll also expect $110k+ easily for the top spec version (Z07?)

I've owned a 620hp car (twin turbo, not S/C), and tracked it, and it should be obvious that you damn well better be on your A game or you are not going to have a good day. Things happen very quickly. A white-knuckle experience for sure.

Just made the Z/28 all that much more desirable- sweet, sweet naturally aspirated goodness. Punch in the back of a blown car is all mighty fun but nothing beats predictable linear power delivery for a track car. That's just me and I 'm sure others have a different opinion.

I agree with you. The Z/28 is awesome as it comes. Unfortunately, the way of the world seems to be F/I to make power. The C7 Z06 is a departure from the previous car, which is one of my favorite cars.

Ok it's just mohr Z candy.

I will accept either in my garage.

Not sure I will ever chin a $100,000 car though but won't stop me from wanting.

My ZL1 is the first F/I car I have ever owned. I must say that I love it and may never own another NA muscle car.

I highly doubt its 1000lbs lighter. I think they needed the supercharger to make it perform since the C7's seem to be a lot heavier than the C6's. The Z51 is at 3450lbs so this car with a supercharger, probably more beefed up components etc. will not be far from 3500 as well. Hence, 500lbs lighter than a ZL1 with 40 more hp. The torque though, OMG, sites are claiming 650ftlbs.

A C6 Z06 had a weight to power of 3150lbs/505hp = 6.24lbs/hp. So to make an equal C7 Z06 that weighs around 3500lbs you would need 3500lbs/6.24lbs/hp=561hp. What naturally aspirated engine can make 560+ hp reliably at the track and still give you over 100,000 miles on the motor? No brainer that they went supercharged on this car, there is literally no other option. Keep in mind it has to slay cars such as the new Ferrari/Porsche cars with close to 600hp.

This Z06 is amazing looking but I would still prefer a C6 one, anything over 500hp in a light car like this becomes a very dangerous vehicle that demands tremendous respect. The europeans do it with small motors that have very low torque, this thing is a torque monster!!! If you ever drove a ZR1 you will understand what I mean. First time I drove it I knew this is a car that is over my boundary, similar to when I tore up my bike driver license after I bought a Suzuki GSXR 1000 crotch rocket and took it for a spin.

Very cool car though, I hope this look trickles down into a Grand Sport C7 like it did on the C6's.

I would think the composite panels (bolt-on?) would not be to difficult to replace. The front-end and front fenders look the same as the Z51, except for the black aero pieces.
