So while we can't conclusively say anything, this engine isn't going to violate any of the laws of physics. To make X amount of power you need to consume Y amount of air and Z amount of fuel in T amount of time. Displacement is the simplest, cheapest, and safest way for a manufacturer to do this. As you reduce displacement, you have to do things like use a more agressive cam profile to alter the timing of the valves so that it can get that fuel and air in and make the power. Problem is, if you now decided to replace your cam(s) with an even more aggresive profile you won't see as much improvement as the same profile in a much larger engine that had a milder cam than the one you started with.

The direct injection is a bit of an equalizer but there is a good chance that they will try and get more power out of the rest of the system, particularly if they hit the 400 ft-lbs of torque mark. If its down to 380 or less then there should be reasonable room for improvement in things like intake/exhaust and tune. If not, about the only thing worth doing would be forced induction
Thats where youre wrong. The 2011 GT would survive a nuclear holocaust, because that is how godly it is.

I would like to say common sense would tell you that 6.2 liters can go farther than 5.0 liters.

Yea, because that 4.0 liter M3, or that 3.6 liter 911 aren't faster

Haha, exactly. And the 4.6 now responds very well to bolt ons (with ) and FI. What's to say the 5.0 won't either?

My homie get's 28mpg on his 06 gt with 4.10's it's all how you drive the car, 4.10's are actuallty better for city driving the car is using less force to move the same speed than 3.31's it's all physics.. the reason people experience less MPG is not the gear ratios it's the way the car reacts and people get a bit too pedal happy.

He never said it was faster, he said 'go farther' as in make more power with an all out build

Tell me, whats better engineered a $20,000 engine which makes 414 hp or a $6000 engine (with proven reliability) that makes at least as much power with better fuel economy, in heavier cars?
