I know the odometer is close because of where I had been. Maybe the pump's off? I'd hate for my econobox 1LE to give anyone a coronary but it is what it is. The pump MUST be off, huh?
with overdrive and a light foot it's very possible to get good mileage on fairly flat terrain.

...not flat terrain though. Very hilly. 5mpg up one side... 55mpg down the other = 30mpg

I've also been following Cornerspeed's posts about the high flow cats. You can bet I'll be getting some of those, too...

...I also tried EXTRA hard this week for economy, and like ssrs2lt said, I was in neutral quite a few of those miles. I really do believe the pumps are off also, but all giggles aside, every word I've stated is true. These cars really can get much better gas mileage than anyone would imagine.

Since your averaging 37 mpg, take all the money your saving on gas and go buy a GoPro. Then set it to record your dic on your next trip and prove it to us all. I for one would love to see it.

I for one believe him as I could do 34.5 doing the same thing on the highway with my stock LS with Airaid intake.

You have a V6. That is believable.

I also got 30.0mpg round-trip from Denver to Steamboat Springs, through the Eisenhower tunnel on I-70. That was actual for the 300+ mile trip. DIC showed 30.6mpg.

The mountains don't reduce my mpg's but the thin air here is an advantage. On the plains, I drop to 27mpg.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Maybe the thin air helps but unless you can show proof of something 99% of SS drivers can't come close to achieving, you shouldn't make the claim.
