Tow Hook License Plate Holder

I have seen these Tow Hook License Plate Holders. I'm definitely getting one. But from where? If I google this piece there seems like a few companies that offer these. Do we have some reviews out there of this item for a 2019 ZL1. Are there any horror stories of these license plate holders turning into propellers and flying off?

I did one and hated it. Plate looks like crap on that thing, it doesn’t sit squarely in the opening. The plate isn’t very stable On the hook mount.

I just removed it and threw the plate in the trunk. If I were forced to reinstall it, I’d center the plate in the bottom of the grill opening. I wouldn’t go back to the stupid tow hook mount.

I agree with the tow hook “look”... not the best. I decided to put my front plate on (I drove this car and my previous Gen 6 a couple years without).

Of course, the car looks cleaner with it off, but a moving violation would = $500-$800 increase to my insurance (three vehicles). I’m not racing, so the plate will stay on.

With the potential $ saved, I’m investing in PPF.

That’s a small plate!

And your car looks awesome... I was thinking about doing something similar on the bumper, nice work.

Really..... Surprised to hear. I can probably get away without a plate and continue to pay a perpetual fine whenever caught, Like 5-10 bucks every time the police caught me. But I thought this was ok. I see more than 1 maker, so I'm trying to find out what's out there. I'll have to see how many people feel the same as you. By the way, did you ever make it out to Oki?

What kind of mount did you get, and where from?

By design the tow hook mount just isn’t very stable. It’s fixed on the end of a rod with a single point of attachment at 90 degrees. Some are ok with it obviously and that’s fine. Just didn’t work for me.

I never went to Oki unfortunately. Spent 20 yrs in and out of Africa, Middle East and Central/South America.
