Higher mileage with lowering springs?
Ive got right at 70k with what I believe are the factory struts (I bought the car with 48k miles). I want to lower soon and figured i might as well do coilovers due to the mileage on the factory struts. Would it be silly to put lowering springs on the factory struts at this mileage or should I just save for coilovers?

Typically by 70k you'll be replacing the shocks if you haven't already, unless maybe almost all of your mileage was done on the highways. Maybe consider coilovers if the price is right (vs. new shocks + springs).
I like my BC Racing coilovers; springs are much stiffer compared to lowering springs and I don't have to worry as much about dinging my front end at times; I had Eibach springs before but I think the spring rate was way too low for this car and I would bottom out very easily/often.

Yes. @ 70k miles I would absolutely replace the struts and shocks at the same time.

Lowering spings on the existing struts/shocks will create a terrible ride. Lowering springs on new aftermarket stuts/shocks, like the Bilstien B6 are a nice combo if you don't go with coilovers.
