1LE VS Bilstein B6/Koni or Pedders Struts & Shocks.
Hi, I am just in the planning stages for replacing my Struts/Shocks, My Mods are listed below, I am lowered 1 Inch. The 2 Main ones I am looking at are the 1LE and the Blistein, Bilstein is probably leading in my choices.
DO I need anything else? New mounts? I am not replacing because mine are worn or anything but like most of you I am always looking for a little more/ Better. Thanks

Before I went with Viking coilovers, I test drove a 1LE with the Bilsteins. Back to back with my 1LE, I liked the ride quality of the Bilsteins and the feel. I went with Vikings as I do more road course events and felt the adjustability was what I wanted. You can't go wrong depending on the intended usage of course.

I just don't want to go the coil over route at this time, I am thinking the Bilsteins are the way to go. I have them on a BMW my Ram truck and on a 3RD Gen 1LE they have always been a good shock in my mind.

Ill Look them up, do you happen to have part numbers handy? are ZL1 or 1LE ones any different then the SS ones? Are there aftermarket versions?

I really like the Bilsteins on mine.
You have the right part number for the Z28 shock mounts, but I couldn't tell any difference when I installed them. I think there was a cut out in the top of it that was different but I couldn't tell that it was any more firm than my originals. Maybe the FE6 are more firm. Since the lefts for both FE6 and FE5/FEA are discontinued, I don't think it will be worth the effort to track them down and install. |

Those are correct part numbers. They’re stiffer than 1LE and SS.

Is there a issue with B6 and lowered cars? I have read mixed reviews on this.

I'm running Bilstein B6 on mine with it lowered. I don't have any issues with it. Of course I haven't compared anything else, but it's what Justice Pete recommended knowing it was lowered.
