Transmission "knock" on LS3 - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have noticed that my transmission makes a knocking sound when I engage the clutch at low speeds. Most of the time, it is when I am just moving the car short distances or when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd. Anyone else noticed this? Maybe this is normal?

My LS1 and LS2 GTO's did it and my SS/RS does it. I think it is the nature of the beast in most cases. I've never had a problem.

My 2lt does it when im coming out of first and just going to neutral..but its at really low speed...never had it do it on 3rd to 2nd...but i figure its under warranty so if anything goes wrong GM has my back

Ditto on my 1SS. Not worried either.

My 2000 SS did it, the 2010 SS does it, just less noticeable now because of how well the car is built. Normal for these cars to make a little transmission noise, just keep your ears open and listen for any changes in the sound that might be telling you there is a serious problem.
