ZL1 Front bumper conversion... Right choice?

Hey guys, i'm currently getting my bumpers replaced at the auto shopped after being in a small fender bender, but I want a ZL1 front bumper instead, however, the $1200 conversion kit by gen5diy is unfortunately out of my price range. Does anyone have experience with this kit here...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-2013-CH...-/301301687694

And if not, could one tell me what they think about it? I would really appreciate any help, thanks!

And if not from a dealer, http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196947.

Save up. You get what you pay for. And lets not forget our hoods don't line up like the zl1.

That's the plan, and if I can swing it maybe a little more!

My 2 cents, but I would stay away from the knock off stuff. Save your money up and buy the GM stuff.

I bought mine pre painted from garys customs. My insurance paid for it since my modded bumper cost more to get done. Pre painted was a great choice and matches perfect.

I would go with the OEM parts. The price seems very reasonable and you can't get any better than the real thing. Anyone remember New Coke from the 1980's? Yuck.

Whatever you do, get GM parts, and make sure the list is complete (everything you need). Also make sure they aren't charging you for the upper grille if you are keeping your current one

Go OEM its the best parts you can buy, dont forget the hardware needed to do the mod and a way to wire up the new fogs.

I have experience with a similar kit that I got off of eBay from ikonmotorsports..im happy with it .. paint job was decent as well everything lined up beautifully. I did not use the top grill that it came with I used an authentic ZL1 oem Grill.. the top grill that it came with was definitely cheap.. i also upgraded the six mounting points where the bumper cover attaches to the top fenders.. they're threaded rivet nut inserts were barely secure.. so replaced them with stronger rivet nuts.
