No reception problems here

I'm suprised to see so many people complaining about reception. I had my truck parked in a parking garage with no view outside and got perfect reception. Now my setup is completely aftermarket so maybe the reception issue is a Chevy antennae problem.

I love the lack of commercials and the variety. I had my service for 4 years before I received a promotion to sign up for lifetime service, which I did.

My 6 month for $25 expired today, so I called the Sirius promotion number to cancel and they offered me the same deal again. So now I am at 1 year for $50! Call this number: 1(866)302-7474

$102 for 16months best I could do. I opted to cancel and wait for at least the $66 for 12months I had.

I'm still trying out the 12 month free that came with the 2SS. So far I'm not impressed at all. A TON of little sound bits that advertise what station you are listening to, always is annoying. There are maybe 2 stations that have music I enjoy listening to, but my iPhone is loaded with gigs of music I love. I don't plan on renewing once my trial is used up.

My coworker just went through this a few weeks ago and you would be surprised with the results.

He called and had his CC removed from his account so that his account would not auto renew and he changed to the internet streaming package. I believe the rate he was offered (after saying he was just going to cancel) was $75ish. A week later, he decided that was a pain in the butt and called back to cancel the internet package and just wanted the standard radio package again. Final cost for one year, $15.

Don't ask me how, obviously something was lost in translation. But he's not complaining.

Wow, that's a sweet deal he ended up with!

Quality

Its simply not worth it from a audio quality standpoint.

Click your steering wheel in your stock sound systems from XM to CD and you can clearly hear an audible difference that is unacceptable.

I have recorded bands, been in the studio for hundreds of hours to hear how we hear music.

The best analogy i can give between the difference of XM and ipod(all products on hi quality rip) is listening to a tape or a CD.

the difference is HUGE!

i dont plan on subscribing after my free 2012
camaro's sub is up or onstar for that matter
the nice app for my iphone is neat, but i can just look at my car for all that info for free.
My cell phone does the rest.

now................

hook me up with a wi-fi system i can purge songs to my car ( jesus whos holding up this easy cheap technology already!) with an on board hard drive ( we need them anyway for the car's systems) and i be on board.

onstar.....XM are just a rip off in the modern world...its a big fail on GM"s part not to innovate this type of system ..
its 2012 people and im almost 40......we get it..so make it already

I don't get it. If you like XM and plan on keeping your car for a few years then why don't you all just pay the $399.00 and you have XM for as long as you own your car? I'm no math major but how can you beat this?

I use the Spotify radio app (It's free), and if switch back and forth the app sounds way better than the xm does.
