Our dealership retinted our back glass without us even asking. It really isn't that much and for all the hassle you'll go through with a top replacement it won't be too much to ask.

I wish we had never replaced ours. (or had to ..to start with)

Dealer said they performed this work... thanks to this site I knew what to look for. They did not perform the all the work... and most of what they did do was wrong.

Needless to say I am besides myself.

No surprise since I was one of the very early builds but my VIN is on the list.
Parts are on order and the the dealer will call me when they arrive.
It's raining again here, so she's back covered in the garage after two spring break cruises.

Just got back from having the dealer apply the 12052 convertible top enhancements. They applied tape to the larger mid-roof link (1) and front rail section (3), but not the smaller mid-roof link (2) (circled in red). Missed it on both sides so at least they were consistent.

I hate to drive back to the dealer (it's 30 miles round-trip) just for two pieces of tape. So my questions are:

1. How critical is it to have tape on the small mid-roof link? I assume it's critical enough or it wouldn't be part of the bulletin.
2. What kind of tape is it and where can I get a small quantity?

Sure looks like scotch tape doesn't it. I priced the tape kit (part#22910231) at GM Parts Direct and it's over $25 with shipping. Awfully expensive scotch tape if that's what it is.

It's not Scotch tape. It's much thicker.....that still doesn't mean I hold any hope for it though

I just called my dealer and set up an appointment for next Friday....asked the service dude if he knew what I was refererring to and he did not.....I gave him the bulletin number. I'll be taking the printout with me just to make absolutely sure that they know.

I just got mine back and I didn't have tape at (3). Let see how it works.

I bought my car about 2 months ago so I'm now checking with my dealership whether or not the required roof repairs have been made. I have a long drive planned for the wife and I to take the car to The Keys in a few weeks so I don't want any problems.

thats not gonna stop the hole, the hole is being caused by the tips of the screws that hold the headliner to the bracket they are supposed to cut.
