I bet the car will pull really smooth and the turbo4 will sail nicely. GM will make the smart move on this one I am sure. Its supposed to hit the Camry and Altima Taurus segment. Its not going after the ultra performance sedan sector like the CTS/V.

Sounds more like an upscale rally car like the Evo and WRX to me, not cheapo Camry and Altima.

It won't compete anywhere near the STi. The STi would be around 80 more horses, 30 lbs of torque, and more importanly weigh around 500 lbs less.

If that's the case, I think this thing is way under powered for it's size. Get it around 3,200lbs and that wouldn't be to bad with those motors.

Standard Regal will be a few hundred pounds lighter than the OPC model.

3314 LBS for an 09 Insignia. So add a couple hundred lbs for AWD.

That would be better. I do thing it's a great looking car. The world could use more up scale cars of this type. I think it will appeal to both young and old.

I am hoping to drive one in the next couple of weeks. But the folks I've talked to report the 2.4L version to be an outstanding car and the Turbo 2.0L to be even better.

As for the 3.8L comparison? Seriously, but that is a boat anchor motor. GM made a lot of money on that engine and took it to some incredible levels of HP with the SC versions, but it went out of production a year ago for good reason. You do know GM no longer makes the 3.8L don't you?

And as the GS hasn't been announced, there is no powertrain announced either. So hang on and lets see where that goes.
