I don't think anything will come of this, but it's a good lesson in just how much leverage China has. China's in a better position than we are to deal with an unhappy population too should they feel the need to kick it up a notch.

(I'm just guessing this is... close)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of..._by_population

#1 - China - 1,336,190,000 (19.63%)
#2 - India - 1,177,845,000 (17.3%)
#3 - USA - 308,805,000 (4.54%)

China has a helluva lot bigger population (if they decide to kick it up a notch).

I think he may have been referring to China dealing with its OWN population, as they already have great practice at suppressing and oppressing it. Since Chinese citizens can't own firearms, they have no real way to fight back. Where as here in the US, not only do we have a much more open style of government (may not be perfect, but nothing is), LOTS of citizens here own firearms of all shapes and sizes. This protects us both from our own government doing anything hugely stupid, and foreign invaders (someone, i forget who, once said that if someone were to invade the US they would find a rifle behind every blade of grass)

True, true. The thing with soviet crap is that they never had the money to actually fix the stuff that they needed to, I mean on the blueprints, designs and prototypes a lot of the stuff that they built was similar to ours, such as buran and the energia rocket. But while here in the states scientists and engineers kept improving technology and updating various systems, the soviets just ran out of money.

But the stuff that they build nowadays isn't bad at all... except for their cars.

LOL so you get my point! Holy crap its amazing that people automatically assume racism. I am far from racist I have japanese, black and indian friends. Im dating a full blown Native American girl. China could care less about the rest of the world. You think that it cares that people are out of work and companies closing anywhere? lol its a self centered country they dont give a crap about anything out of their borders. Playing the racism card as a deflection tactic only blurs the solution to things. Political correctness is destroying everything. Whats right is right and whats wrong is wrong.

@Danny5-
Wow, what good those airbags did since you end up with a face full of steering wheel(and dashboard, glass...whatever else you hit). You'd think those cars were going 120 mph but one Chery said 64 km/h....40 mph.

The difference is that the Chinese Government has demonstrated a willingness to simply run people over with tanks. Plus they've only been prosperous for a couple decades, they've had a taste of the good life and that's great- but they have history that would make them better prepared to deal with an economic war. They were economically sealed up except for 4 heavily controlled ports until the 80s if memory serves. As long as they express their leverage non-violently, we won't get help and I'd expect it would be harder on us then on them.
