I think it's normal. I don't have an LSD, and I had thick buildup on both my plugs at just over 30,000 miles.

Approaching 1500 miles soon and going to change the engine oil then.
Might as well as do the diff. also. Have a 2014 SS, and looking at recommendations for best oil/filter and rear diff. fluid I can purchase from local auto store.

Thx

I'll probably get mine changed around 15,000 miles. I only have 6,400 now, so I've got time.

Great write up. 👌 question by changing the Rear Diff do you notice a change in how the car now drives? Curious if there's a difference or not?

I think it's a good idea to change it at 1500-3000 miles and again at 15,000 then just stick to the factory service intervals.

I changed mine at 3,000 miles and noticed the shavings most others are seeing, this is just due to break in, but that is why its a good idea to change the oil early and get them out, you don't want the shavings hanging around getting into bearings and such.

Looking at doing this at 1500, just looking what I should pick up at local auto shop for the rear diff. fluid. Want to make sure use the correct stuff. Same for the oil, looking at the Mobile 1 FS, but if there is something better that can be bought locally vs. online, please let me know..thx

I personally like royal purple for the rear end and I would stick with mobil 1 for the motor until you warranty is up.

Does the rear diff. fluid need to have that friction stuff in it for the SS?
Thx again for the info

The RP has the additive in it, but I would just check the bottle to make sure as many don't have it, but yes you need an the additive for the limited slip diff in the SS.

Anyone have to add more LSF modifier to the mobile one that has it included? Changing it out tonight and didn't get more modifier.
