I wasnt very in depth with that.....sorry

It shouldnt make a diff unless you are starting the car in very low temps....as in below zero...

What does CCA mean?
Cold Cranking Amps is a rating used in the battery industry to define a battery's ability to start an engine in cold temperatures. The rating is the number of amps a new, fully charged battery can deliver at 0° Farenheit for 30 seconds, while maintaining a voltage of at least 7.2 volts, for a 12 volt battery. The higher the CCA rating, the greater the starting power of the battery.

If there are any doubts in your mind you could always by a battery with a higher CCA rating!

You won't need more amps than what it will ship with. You might want some battery action if your adding lot of electronics to the vehicle. Otherwise stock is fine. It's a large battery already. If anything it will be better inside in cold weather than in the engine compartment. As the engine compartment is open air on bottom and the inside is of course weather sealed.

Is a battery warmer under the hood than in the trunk after a cold night outside?

My Lincoln LS has it's battery in the trunk and we have gotten plenty cold in Toledo the last 5 years. I have had zero problems with it and say that I prefer it in the trunk for weight and space under the hood. Plus it stays a hell of alot cleaner in the trunk well.

Battery is in the trunk on my G5. No problems whatsoever.

These things are taken into account when the car is made. They won`t let something like that slip by em.

My Cobalt has the battery in the trunk... no issues either. Although we really don't get that cold here.
