I know in the offroad truck world the 4L80e is much more desirable than the 6L80e because of the superior strength of the 4L.

Its the torque that kills...

most pure drag cars at that HP range are running some form of 2-speed glide which also needs to be of high build quality.

2000hp breaks a lot of things...a lot of usually strong things.

^^^ This ^^^

If you're looking to have 2000HP, that 6L80e will be nowhere in the picture.

Do you know what it takes to put 2000hp to the ground? Post this in the forced induction section. U will get better answers there.

Try a powerglide.

A six speed will absolutely not hold that power.

If you're after an overdrive gear still try a 700R4. It's only a 4 speed, but it is a similar design to the old school Turbo 350 and 400's with an overdrive gear. Otherwise, I have seen/heard of guys going with the Turbo 350 or Turbo 400 for strength in an automatic that has more gears than just 2. However, like stated above, many extremely high hp drag cars are using power glides.

Powerglide, th400, or 4l80 are your best options at that level. I'm not sure the 6l90 would hold up to that.

Just strap a jet engine to it and some flaps, no tranny needed.

If your planning to use either the 6L80 or 6L90 with 1800 hp..........reinforce your floor pan and Trans tunnel along with scatter shield and other saftey equipment, because there will be an explosion.
