Newbie... yes, I'm "that" girl
Way back in 99 I bought a new camaro only to trade it in a year later as the family grew. With a second child ready to join us and only a regular cab pick up as the other vehicle it was time to move on to minivan and suv hell for awhile. I missed her terribly, even more so when the camaro was temporarily retired. It was a dark time in my vehicle ownerhip history. 3 Kids later, only one left without a permit... no more teams to load up in the yukon or gear to haul to practices...there was light beginning to shine through this tunnel. I thought I would still be 5-10 yrs out until all the kids were gone but this week I came home to a birthday present in the driveway.
A total surprise from my husband who had obviously been paying attention for more than the past decade... because he surprised me with this 2014 SS 1LE and she is everything I would have picked out and more. And he is NOT a car guy at ALL. It's only been a week and the itch is already back as strong as it was 15+ years ago but there will be no mods right away. I will not be on any tracks and no interest in showing her - I will just spend the next decade or so babying her, cleaning her and riding pretty all while trying my best to avoid the mod bug. Maybe just a fuse pull or minor customizations to make her "mine" but she's perfect. After all warranties are over I'm hoping that I can get the husband interested in her but for the time being it's just me... "that" girl who pretends to know nothing about her car when the men are around but will still show off at a red light or two. Hi everyone, I am Jamie and this... this is Jolene <3 |

Jamie, CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Because Jolene was a surprise I was thrilled to find the forums. I'm more behind than I thought I was because obviously 15 years has changed ALOT and I've enjoyed reading the posts all week! Yesterday I treated myself to an Adams order that should arrive tomorrow - I can't wait to give her a bath...especially the hood. It was meticulous when he brought it home of course but now that it's dried out a bit, got a little dust on it and such I can see where someone has put some kind of wax or product on it (only on part of it) and when the sun hits it just right you can see it - so momma's got her work cut out for her but I can't imagine a better way to spend the afternoon
