I used pirelli snow and ice on my stock ss rims. 245/45/20 front and back. Worked great!

Rudy,

I'm asking pretty much the same thing as the last two guys. I drive a 2SS with the stock 20" rims and PZero Tires (245/45/20 Front ,275/40/20 Rear). I am interested in the Blizzak LM-60s and was wondering if the 245/45R20 would fit all four of my rims. If not, do you guys have a solution for me? I really would prefer to buy winter tires instead of all season tires. Any help is much appreciated!

As posted on the other thread, if you do a search on Size 275 40 20 the Pirelli Scorpion Ice and snows will come up. They will not come up if you do a search on winter tires. They did back in 2009.

I went with 19" MSW Type 16 Rims (5 Spoke Black)
and put some P-Scoripians ice & Snow 19" 245/50 close to same dia. as Stock SS tire.
Picked up a set of 4 @Tire rack $1100 mounted balanced and shipped (No TPS)
No mounting and balancing of tire and rim every 6 months
just rotate the winters for the summer.

Without putting the Tire Pressure Monitor on the Winter Tire Package, does it constantly beep at you? I am just wondering because I want to save the extra $200+ by also NOT putting the TPMS on my Winter tire package when I buy it from TireRack too.

I hope it's just a start up warning on the dash and then it goes away. Please tell me how your car reacts when the winter tires are on and it can't read the tire pressure.

Yes you get a message on the DIC
press the button and it goes away.

I still get the onstar e-mail and that notifies that it cannot read the signal.

Thank you, now that I know it's nothing obnoxious that beeps forever I'll be fine with it.

I forgot the OnStar email would probably inform me that it can't read the tire pressure. That's OK too, not a bother.

Thanks again SRFnSNO

They do not make any 20 inch steelies that will work that I ever heard of.

You can but 245/45R20 front and rear would be best for winter traction.

I haven't lived in snow country in ages but when I did I ran winter studded tires. Are studded tires still being used? The safety factor was light-years better than winter tires without them. Of course you had to have two sets of wheels and tires. Given the expense of our camaros, if I had to drive in ice/snow I would be on studded tires if available.

Actually during our testing we have found the technology has increased so much that a good studless snow will have equivalent traction to a studded tire.

With all due respect, NOT on black ice.

Thanks for you feedback and respectfull reply. Please keep in mind I have been in the tire business for a long time and I am not giving out bad information. I live in major SNOW country and have lots of expierence with snow tires. Studded tires have their place. However in some of our testing we have actually found that modern snow tires actually outperformed studded tires on an Ice Rink we do our testing on. If you have not driven on a modern snow like a Blizzak on Xice you may be suprised to see how much traction on Ice they can have. Take a look at this test link from our testing.
