With snow in the forecast for my area, I decided to put on my winter wheel/tire package that I bought from TireRack. So as I promised, here are the pics! Enjoy!

Or does the LS not even have different sizes and Im just confused. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
You have the same size front and rear so you can rotate the tires. No spacers needed. Check out our recommended 18 inch winter package for your car. Let me know if you have any questions.

With it already snowing in NY I really want to find a cheap pair of the steelies that comes the ls and then I'll get pirellis snow and ice hopefully.
Yes 17's will be better in winter.

They were to keep the summer tires (guy at the desk even wrote it in large letters on the work order) and then they tossed them and had to go retrieve them. Overall I don't expect much from Pep Boys but come on.

Of course we get the first snow of the year while I am waiting, so what better chance to try out my new tires! I have to say, I love them. It was pretty much just slush where I was, but the tires gripped very nicely. The summer tires were a much rougher ride and really gave you less confidence. I can feel the huge difference of the Scorpion Snow/Ice tires already on dry roads at 30º.

Great job by Tire Rack, very easy experience. I just think I will have tires shipped elsewhere in the future.
Thank you again. Sorry you had a poor experience with Pep Boys. Sometimes it just comes down to the guy doing the job. I am glad to hear it worked out well in the end.

Which wheel and tire set would you recommend for winter on an SS? Should I even go smaller? 18" or 17"? I dont care what the wheels look like, they can be steel for all I care. I want a cheep winter wheel set and a nice set of winter tires for my SS.

Thanks

Pirelli summer tires will begin to act up below 40*. You make the call--

I don't think there are 18's that will fit. Rudy will confirm.

Here's my setup. Scored some used polished rims and Pirelli Ice & Snows.

Note the curb rash Perfect for winter!

The problem is 18s do not fit the SS because of the Roller Skate dampers. Give me a call so we can discuss in detail.

Probably not. I would consider an all season tire which will have more grip in the colder temps.

My coworker just picked up an early 10 SS that we pulled the sticky weights off of. Do you have an 18" package for that setup?

I do but because this is a "Specialized" fitment we handle it one on one. If either you or your co-worker can call me I will be glad to cover some options with you to consider.

Hello, I purchased a 2011 2LT RS package earlier this year. I'm hunting around for snow tires but the 20" scorpions are a bit pricey. I saw the winter wheel/tire packages on your website. I was reading about these "roller skate pads" and wanted to ensure that the 17" wheels would fit on my car properly? My brother has bought tires from your website in the past so that's how I heard about you. Thank you!

Only the SS has the roller skates. So yes 17 will fit on your LT RS package. Please let me know if you have any questions on the packages we offer. Also when checking out our system will ask if your working with someone at the Tire Rack. Type in "Rudy/Camaro" and I personally review every order to make sure its a perfect fit.
