RS: You can run 5202 bulbs (HIDS!)

If you want to save from buying an expensive p13 HID kit, it is part #9 (an adapter for the DRL bulb). It is an adapter that you place your 5202 bulb in, so it fits the P13 socket. I have done HID upgrades to 8 RS customers and it works like a charm! Found it out after modding an escalade headlight! Dont know if it's a repost, but just putting the information out.

Just buy this: Adapter Either Side - Cadillac escalade W/o led - Cadillac escalade W/o led
07-12 $4.03 $2.52

Stock, the RS trim package uses a P13W mount for its DRL. With the adapter you can use a 5205 bulb that the non-RS equipped utilize instead. Basically its a less expensive alternative for those with the RS trim

So this allows you to install a 5202, drl?, bulb instead of a p13w?

I pulled the pic from GM partsdirect. It should be sold at GM dealers in their parts dept.

Hmmm... I'm suprised this hasn't been thought of before now. Is there any issue with voltage? Seems too good to be true.. Since most people with the rs package want their drls to match the hids.

Note: one tab is about ~1mm too long, just a little trim needed on the bulb holder. It will work!

This is awsome but you left out some important info. Either the gm part number for the adapter or at least the year escalade you are sourcing this from. Thx

Well the bulbs are readily available for cheap on eBay, I already have some ballasts so it won't cost much for me but I have a couple questions. How is the beam? Since this housing wasn't really designed to have a bulb like this, how does it throw light? In a controlled pattern or is it just scattered light? They are not adjustable so it's pretty important that they blind on coming traffic. A little insight?

A part number would be most helpful. Either that or more info about the Escalade, such as year and trim level.

So, I found where the OP Posted this picture from, but they still don't have any part numbers listed anywhere.

Odd, i'd figure most people would be looking to convert the stock DRL's to actual projector HID Fog Lights/DRL's, instead of the other way.... but good info nontheless
