First Time Camaro Owner- HELP

Hello! I just bought my first ever Camaro, first ever muscle car for that matter. It is a black 2011 Camaro 2SS. So far, I LOVE IT! The only modifications I have done so far is black out the chevy bowtie and swap the stock foglights for LED lights. I could use some help finding a few things while making sure I don't get robbed. A list of things that I am looking to do first is find an aggressive front splitter, an exhaust that makes my car sound nice but not obnoxious, and headers. I just joined the forum because I heard about how great everyone is! I'm looking forward to communicating with everyone!

Welcome and congrats on your ride! The mod bug bites hard and often!! The best mod for he money is to upgrade your rear end gears to 3.91. Are you auto?

Welcome, I went with Texas speed headers, I think they are good quality and moderately priced. The 3.91 gear will wake the car up, it’s one of the first mods I did along with a 3200 stall.

And....learned a lot by reading through all the posts. There is a great wealth of knowledge just waiting to be absorbed. Just like any other major decision.....take your time....ask, listen, read and learn.

Congrats on the new ride. If you're looking to do headers and not go too loud on exhaust you should get headers first and then work on a catback. Headers with or without cats will add a significant amount of sound in addition to performance.

Thanks guys for the feedback so far. Sorry for just now getting back to the post. I thought i would receive an email when people replied. Still learning the interface. Thanks for the feedback so far. I will post pics ASAP. How would I go about upgrading me my rear end gears to 3.91? Yes, I am automatic with paddle shifters. I am mainly looking for performance mods. I already have a pretty good idea of what cosmetic mods I would like.

3.91s definitely is a good upgrade. For exhaust the SW retro chambered sounds good. It won’t get you the highest Dyno numbers due to the chambers restricting some flow but it sounds good

There are always tradeoffs with performance mods, so you should consider what your objectives are, and how you plan to use the car, before jumping in.

For example, if you like road trips and highway cruising, a loud exhaust might cause a drone that wears you out and 3.91 gears will cause poor gas mileage. But if you want to go drag racing, these are good mods.

If you spend some time here, you will find that people encounter all sorts of problems when modifying these modern, computer controlled cars. Most performance mods require a tune, and tuners are not all created equal.

The most common problems though, are will headers. They are hot and can damage other components under the hood. In my opinion, they are not worth the trouble unless you are embarking on a project to get more power in every way possible. You can improve the sound with an aftermarket cat-back exhaust.
