Can somebody help me?

I want to put a new stereo in my 78 camaro.
but to do so im going to have to cut the dash a little.
the old original stereo had nob wholes on the l/r side and the center cut-out.
im going to have to cut out a bigger whole to fit the new stereo.

My question is, is there a kit out there for mounting the new stereo in place?
and can anyone offer some advice with this endeavor?
thank you.

I'd check a place like J.C. Whitney since they usually have all kinds of stuff for older cars. As to cutting, I'd recommend taking out that section of dash and using a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel. I'd practice cutting other stuff first, since you'll probably only have one shot at doing it right (without having to buy a new dash). Anyway, that's where I'd start. I'll dig around and see what I can find and update my post. Nice car by the way. It reminds me of my parents' 81 model.

I found something that mounts directly in and gives you more of a choice:

thanks. those look pretty sweet.
i would definately get one of those if i was going for the full original look.
but im ultimately going to put this deck in...
Alpine

so im going to have to cut out that area where the old original deck went.
and put in some mounting brackets. but for now, im taking the deck out of my moms old Jetta that is brand new. cant remember what it is.
im going to post up some pics for better explanations later today maybe.
thanks for your help

If you don't want to cut you could always mount it in the glove box.

Get the more expensive one. It gives more precise information. I can't tell much about the other one.

thats what i was thinking.
the other one is practically the exact same thing.
maybe it has less power output? i dont know.
but i will be ordering that first one as soon as i get the money.
it has everything i need. all my music is on an external hard drive, so i dont need a cd changer anyways.
