I just cut mine up like the Copo book shows and removed 28lbs that way

Can you drop the pan without engine removal doing it like this?

Hard to tell in the picture but yes you can remove the oil pan.
Still think a tubular K-Member will free up some space and look better than this but for the weight savings I'll keep this a little longer.
