help...questions after coilovers alignment
I just put on coilovers, car was on 1.8 drop springs, but decided that was just too low for daily driver, so went with bc coilovers, raised car up 1 inch from where it was. The car rides really smooth, but turns feel funny, at low speeds kinda a 4x4 on dry pavement type feeling, just not as bad, I was waiting till everything settled to do a alignment, but could this 1 inch lift from previous height cause this issue? I even heard tires chirp around corners a few times. I quit driving car until I get some advice.

Yeah, you definitely need an alignment. Have them clock your bushings, and you shouldn't have any settling worth mentioning.

Your alignment is probably way out of spec. I would get that checked first off.

OK thanks, I knew a alignment was needed, but wanted to make sure I didn't need anything else looked at during the alignment. Thanks

Yes, it will drastically change the toe in.
The tire squeal is another indication of the toe in after raising or lower the car. It will change a lot more than you expect it to, and a little toe one way or another will make a huge difference. It will be much nicer aligned and wont eat the tires. |
