Is your Delta one of the newer incarnations or one of the originals? My favorite 1911 10mm is a Rock Island that a friend of my dads worked over for me a few years ago before he passed away. I have a few 1911's of his. That man knew his way around a pistol.

Yeah. I'm a bit of a Smith, 3rd Gem 10mm fan. These guys are built like tanks.

That said...I'm REALLY enjoying my new P-220 Sig in ten.

I have the whole family of 1000 series as well, even the elusive 1086. I lived in Montana for 3 years. I am familiar with the fact that when you enter the woods up there, you are no longer at the top of the food chain. In the south, everything that will screw you up pretty much lives in the water. Out west, it walks around in the woods.

It's one of the new ones with Novak sights already installed. I love Novak sights and the newer model saved me the trouble of having to send the slide off to have a set dovetailed in. There's so much you can do to a 1911, it's just a fun pistol to work on. I've yet to try out a Rock Island model.

Yep, don't want any part of that! That would be like trying to fight a bulldozer, lol. I would like to see Montana though, one of the few places I've never been. Beautiful country.

I'll take my badlands though, at least I can see them coming.

They are awesome pistols for the money. I have the full size and the Commander. They are good out of the box, but mine have been worked over and are slick as eel poop. I have one the original Delta Elite Gold Cup's. Haven't shot it in years.

Me and a buddy had a close encounter with a mountain lion during the 2016 Elk season while bow hunting. Even with the .454 Casull I had in my hand, I felt like I needed a bigger gun. No issues. Kitty went one way, we went to the truck.

Nice! I've seen those at gun shows, might have to check them out. I prefer the all metal pistols as opposed to these poly guns. That said, my EDC is a Smith M&P 2.0, I really like this piece.

I added the thumb safety, after shooting 1911's so long it felt too weird without it.

I hope to never run into any dangerous animals out in the wild. I watched a show last week where a guy was attacked by a bear, screw that! I'll take my rattle snakes and scorpions over that any day. I think I would find it hard to shoot a mountain lion unless he was just bent on having me. Beautiful animals, and rare in Texas.

Same here unless he was hell bent on chewing my face off. By the way, the Underwood Ammo 180 gr XTP works great on hogs of all sizes, deer too. I have a AR haberdashery in 10 mm that runs off Glock mags. Hi Point has a nice little carbine now chambered in 10mm for about 380 bucks. I have one on order. Should be here end on here his week.

Surprisingly mtn lions are fairly easy to kill. They hunt them here by running them with dogs, treeing the cat, then shooting it. Quite a few hunters use .22 mag pistols!

Dave,,,,, I'm 6 miles north of Craig on the River. I get into Gt Falls weekly. Pretty active up at the MO River Shooters, Range, north of Town. I run the LR Rifle generally every Wednesday evening.

We need to meet up for coffee, or lunch one day.
