Totally understood....if I didn't have a shop to do it in, Id totally follow them lines of thought.

This time of year especially. Pollen up, forgettaboutit! lol

Can't wait to see em.

Woot!,

Found a guy who does most of the dealer cars in Austin and spoke with him. $175 for install. A bit high for me. Let me know if you want his contact info.

It is looking like I will do this myself.

$175 is a very good price. It takes time and a good eye to install.

Use a lineup tape like paint tape (the blue stuff) and measure twice. On smaller items I use windex to keep the surface wet and allow alignment and to work out bubble. Bubbles should be minimal if you lay it on correctly. Then you can work them out from the center out using a sofy edged squeegee.

I have watched quite a few YouTube videos of the install and feel I am capable of doing it. My main concern was finding an enclosed environment to keep the elements out. The guy I mentioned does not have his own tools or facilities so he would require the same. I will save the money and spend a Saturday drinking a few beers at a friends house doing it.

Are you doing the factory style or are you going with the extended version that will go over the mailslot. If you're dealing with the mailslot I wouldn't touch them....let someone that knows what they are doing put that on.

I've got a guy here in the DFW area (no not Big Worm....he didn't want to deal with the mail slot.....thankfully for me) that does such a good job that the last Camaro5 meet I was at they thought they were painted on until I told them. Actually the guy I used did a training of 3 other graphics guys when he did mine to show them how to deal with the mail slot. Mine were custom but I got the stripes, gills, and sunvisors done for $450 out the door and no headache for me. Worth every penny!

Here are a couple links for you in case you still want DYI:

You do need a clear place with no wind or bugs to install.

You don't want your stripes to look like this....
