I think thier statement to the OP of "its beteeen you and the dealership" probably lost them any chance of being able to claim bashing of GM.

I think its crazy that GM doesnt seem to relize that what people think of the dealerships is what they think of GM....there were numerouse comments on the rate pages where people were claiming they would not buy a GM product now.

Irealize many if not most probably had no intention of buying a vehicle, but there usually is some gold among the chaff. So if this only turns say 10% away from looking at GM vehicles, as widespread as this was, thats alot.

The problem is GM thinks they are bulletproof and dont need to worry about image or customer service to any large degree.

I agree completely. To the vast majority of people, GM is Chevy, dealer is Chevy, camaro is Chevy. They're all the same. No distinction whatsoever. So if the dealer sucks, then GM sucks. Even I didn't know that dealerships were franchises.

This was a publication nightmare for GM when it didn't have to be. And that's something they simply can't afford. They're struggling to stay afloat as it is.
Yes, there was a discord in GM's "musical song". But this discord could have been the first note of a new, and more beautiful "song." But it wasn't.
