i would say make the seat belt like a jet fighter, where they all clip together on the center of the breast bone, two straps on your left side, two from your right and have them click in the middle, but lets face it, its going to be very similar to ss, only supercharged and hopefully better tune and a better suspension, i can feel the nose dip down too much, but at the same time, its designed for comfort, so its a catch 22, also ive heard that the body will be slightly different, but im all for decreasing her weight.

also lets think about this, the ss is just a tad behind the gt500, if gm is going to send this cobra to the boot factory, there isnt too much that needs to be done to it, however i would like to see a lighter car with a different suspension

April is 6 months away, and the rumors/speculation have it being built atleast 12 months after that. You're unrealistic. Don't hold your breath on anything you believe today actually coming true. A lot can change in those 18-24 months.

I'll be "ordering" (aka putting my deposit down to save my spot in line for an allocation) sometime in October as well. |

I'm not sure why people are trying to bring up pricing from 40 years ago, because it's pretty irrelevent to current prices and economics.
First I'd like to see it priced under a bare-bones Corvette, whatever that is. If they keep it under that I'll be happy. I'd like to see an updated LSA with forged internals. It would be worth the relatively modest price increase. Lighter weight forged 20" wheels (there's no way Chevy will put anything smaller on there). Pedders coilovers and sway bars. Upgraded axles and, if needed, rear end. AT LEAST 3.7x rear end ratio. 13" rear brakes so we can fit some smaller rear wheels on there. And while I know this is completely cost prohibitive and will never happen, I'd like to see carbon fiber hood and fenders to help offset the weight of the supercharger. I think all of this is economically feasible and functionally logical, so I'd be pretty happy if it had all that. |

The 2010 ‘bare bones’ Corvette Coupe MSRP = $48,930 + $950 destination charge = [ call it ] $50K even. I think it is absolutely essential that Chevy keep the Z28 ‘significantly’ below that price point – for several reasons. As I have written elsewhere, I believe that the Z28 will be brought to market for [ at absolute most ] something like $45K MSRP. I expect that there will be a GGT in the $1,500 to $2,000 range. Likely more with the 6L90 automatic, if offered. This would bring the total to $47 – $48K. And I just do not see any way that Chevy can make a case for a Camaro price any higher. IMHO, this will probably mean that the LSA will be configured essentially identical to the version already in the CTS-v. Also IMHO, the modifications to suspension & interior will have to be the absolute minimum required by the additional HP & TQ. The Corvette will still keep several unique features [ only 2 seats, lower, better suspension, more expensive components – in the suspension & elsewhere – to help keep weight significantly lower than the Camaro ] and a certain element of exclusivity. And a somewhat higher price point. Just my predictions. So: If you want a very high powered Camaro – with a manufacturer warrantee – this could be it. If you want a lot more than that - I expect that you’d be on your own. We shall see. - Ray Gazing into a cloudy crystal ball? |

Need better axles. Those are snapping and not strong enough. Several members have broken theirs and even in the Camaro book about the 2010 they had problems with breaking them. Even is a picture of a bunch of testers pushing one off the road.
I personaly think launch control is a bad move. Taking a car up to 4K RPM and letting out on the clutch not good move. If not done right the computer is not handling the power and bam their goes the axle. |
