It's a good thing that we are currently at a .26% death rate (and dropping).

Also, Where has your concern been over cancer and heart disease?

Heart disease averages more deaths (by over double) than COVID.

This virus is currently killing about as many people as die during a bad flu season.

Look at the "new cases" curve... going up.

Look at the "deaths" curve... flat to declining.

What does that tell you?

Again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own science.

Studies have shown that 13.9% of people running around in NY have unknowingly contracted the virus and were self cured with no lasting effects (other than antibodies).

So, in actuality, that .26% is probably lower.....

I don't know maybe you don't die instantly?
If you divide the deaths by cases it comes to around 2.7%. In the US.

What it means is that the virus has burned through the dry tinder, the easy pickings so-to-speak. Those of us who are left (statistically almost everybody) are harder for it to kill.

So whatever percentage a person chooses to go with, it is meaningless because going forward it is dropping. You cannot extrapolate the future based on the to-date death rate because that rate is skewed to the high side.

The other problem is twofold -
1.) We don't really know the number of cases. There are tons of false positives and there are also tons of undocumented cases... and

2.) The number of covid deaths is absolutely overstated, it's just a matter of by how much.

So to use a percentage based on two unknowns does not make much sense.

I like to look at like this - U.S. population is around 330,000,000. U.S. covid deaths are 224,000 (overstated, but we'll go with it). Death rate 224,000/330,000,000 = .07%

Not scary.

Respect it; don't fear it.

Again, add 13.9% to the "infected and survived" column to get the actual numbers.

Or, if you'd like, drop it to 10% (to include an exaggerated margin of error), and get a closer count.

According to official numbers, and calculating the 10% from "the NY study", the current death rate as of today is .25% nationwide.

This is as close as we can come. As Jimmy has stated, the death count is not accurate and some states have actually reported negative numbers on certain days to compensate.

Wear the mask.
Stay at home.
Conform or be cancelled.

The ruling elite don't have to wear a mask, (Pelosi, Feinstein, Cuomo, et al) and even admit it's political theater.

Quote:
An exchange between Gov. Tom Wolf and a state House member from Bucks County on Tuesday went viral on social media, drawing the ire of Republican groups and even garnering national attention courtesy of Eric Trump.

The state livestream includes audio of Rep. Wendy Ullman, D-143, of Plumstead, referring to keeping her face mask on while at the podium before and removing it to speak as "political theater" at a press conference in Doylestown Borough.

"Wendy, I'm going to, I'm going to take my mask off before I speak," Wolf is heard saying to Ullman before her remarks. It was picked up by a microphone at the podium.

"I will as well. I'm waiting so we can do a little political theater," Ullman responded, laughing with Wolf after she spoke and then returning to the microphone with her mask still on.

The most inane thing about all this is that with few exceptions, if you’re a Democrat, you’re hook, line and sinker with Covid-19. You fear the virus, you wear a mask, you chastise those who don’t, you hate Trump and mostly blame him for 2020. If you’re a conservative, you wear a mask only if forced, you’re skeptical about the virus in general, you don’t care who wears a mask or not. You’re ok with Trump and realize that the RESPONSE to the virus, not the virus itself, was COMPLETELY overblown and still is.

In a country so politically divided, even its contagion took a side.

Um noooooo. That is going by the stated numbers from the chart. .5% of people that contract it die from it. SO that is a over 1 million deaths. Spin it how you want. You guys love numbers so why are you ignoring them. Jeez

That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. it is not. According to your precious CDC about 56,000 die from the flu each year in the US......not 1 million.

No one has said anything about cancer or heart disease. This thread is about covid. You can kiss my rear if you want to go making assumptions about what I do and do not care about. You know absolutely nothing about me......NOTHING

Funny how everyone wants to whine about this. You will spend all day washing and waxing your car. Or an hour changing the oil. But will not spend 5 minutes wearing a mask going into a store ,if nothing else for the simple fact of being courteous to your neighbors and giving them a little sense of security. No matter whether it is a real sense of security or not. If you look up definitions in the dictionary one who is concerned more with themselves than others is,,,,,,,self centered. "self centered - preoccupied with oneself and one's affairs"

And what really gets me at how hard it is. You still have the signs no shirt, no shoes, no service. Don't hear grown ups whining about that??????? but you put up a sign saying you must wear a mask to enter good GOD. End of the world coming. You CAN"T make me wear a mask.....

It hurts nothing. it hurts no one. I have pre existing conditions and for me, yes it is aggravating to breathe through. But , it is not "hard" as many would say. So there is no excuse for it except for being self centered.
