Squeaking front brakes
So my 16 with 1700 miles is squeaking a lot at 20 miles an hr or slower. I took it to the dealership and they say this is normal and showed me some bulletin. I can see a little noise but this is screeching.
Anyone else have this issue?

Yep, only way to fix this is non-performance break pads. these break pads remind me of my old hawks.. squeels at every stop sign.

Yeah its the performance pads. You just get used to them. I mean you can check to make sure you don't have any debris between your pad and your rotor. This can also cause unnecessary noise.. However, my car has the performance pad squeel. I know is normal as in the past on my SRT-4 and My Cobra I switched out the pads to high performance pads and the same squeel came with that high performance pads.

Yep Joshua is right. Mine do the same thing, mainly when creeping to a stop. Between that and the excessive brake dust, I'll probably be changing mine out sooner than needed.

Visually inspect to see if there is anything in there. Most likely not but just excessive brake dust on the rotors and on the pads since the stock pads are horrid with dust... Another thing to do is, go find an empty road and do the brake pad break in process again or at least 1 or 2 HARD stops (kick in ABS) to get some fluid flowing.
Another thing is the clean off your rotors. I use BDP wheel cleaner (just spray and let it sit then rinse off, done.) |

You have to brake the edge of the pads off. Apply a bevel in front and the back. Additionally add some copper paste to the areas were the pads are sliding in the Calipers.
The picture show where to apply the bevel.

The squeaking goes down to almost nothing when the brakes wear in.
Drive aggressively and be patient. |
