my guess is because of the shipping fees and costs, and there's probably a bunch of taxes and fines in order to bring in a foreign car. the horsepower and engine type may also cause some taxes and fines. but, these are just my guesses...

Foreign cars in asia are already very expensive, plus in China there's a 40% extra tax on any cars with engines over 4 liters.
