Question V6 brakes to SS Brembo

Hey guys I picked up a set of SS brembos for cheap. I would like to install just the front brembos on my car.....I have a v6 and was wondering if I would have to change the brake booster to a SS one...Also can anyone recommend a good set of brake lines and pads. Thanks

I took my cue from the instructions for the ZL1 brake upgrade kits.

The front kit does not include a new master cylinder. The rear kit does.

Since I'm putting SS Brembos on all 4 corners, I bought the new master cylinder.

There are those on this forum that will tell you you do not need it. I figured why not get it. It's not that expensive. Plus I'm swapping my fluid out anyway.

As to pads, Hawk HPS pads are popular.

The same goes with Goodridge brake lines.

Stock pads and lines are also options.

Would you happen to know the part# for the master cylinder?

You can call Maureen at Rodgers Chevrolet to get one. That's where I bought mine from.

You'll need a bench bleed kit as well.

I ordered the combo (SAE and Metric) kit. You might want to consider one of their power bleeders as well.

The Master is not 100% necessary, but can't hurt. What kind of driving will the car be used for? HPS are good for street/some aggressive driving and I would go with Goodridge for the lines. I can put together a nice package deal for the pads and lines. Feel free to call, PM or email me for more details or with questions.

Best regards,
