Carbon FIber

I am looking into getting a carbon fiber rear defuser
http://andersoncomposites.com/collec...r-rear-valance
I was wondering if anyone has used CF and if they like it. to get the part it would cost less than to ever get the z/28 piece that i want and get it painted. To anyone who has used CF where did you go for it?
thanks all

It's possible to go overboard with carbon fiber. I think I'm at my limit now. I have the Seibon GFX version rockers and rear diffuser, with a Seibon Carbon Fiber ZL1 lower grille and splitter,an Anvil carbon fiber rear spoiler, CF door panels and dash strip and a CF radiator cooling plate under the hood. Also have the CF Z28 hood vent on a 2014 hood. IMHO I think my car looks good and balanced, but if I add any more I risk looking tacky. It is possible to get too much of a good thing, like eating four Hershey almond bars in one sitting. BTW Anderson Composites is the successor to Seibon (I think).

this is really the only piece I want of CF. I like it but I do believe people have way over done it on some cars. do you think with it being based off of the z28 defuser that I would have issues with the exhaust tips? they are borla attack

been thinking of going this route along with the hood vent in carbon fiber and that would be it!

Looking forward to see how it turns out!

If you are doing this simply for looks, you might want to consider hydrocarbon. Looks better imo and much less expensive. I used emblempros 5 years ago and the parts still look new.

I like the look of anything other than that black plastic crap on the back now. I consider that to be the biggest downfall of the car. ill have to look them up to see what they have

I presume you are talking about the too high diffuser on the '14 & '15s, right? I thought Chevy really took a mis step after following Ford's mistake on the '10 & '11 Mustangs. They fixed their mistake in 2012 & Chevy blew it in 2014 copying a failed design, cutting under license plate.

The '10 to '13 diffuser is too small to rap.

Only difference is that too much carbon fiber will not give you explosive diarhhea.

As to whether the quad exhaust tips might cause issues with the CF diffuser...My diffuser is the Seibon version of the GM factory GFX that had stainless steel bezels around the exhaust exits. My CF version does not have the stainless inserts--it looks like they made the mold with the inserts installed, so there is no buffer between the diffuser and the exhaust tips. I've not had any problems with the CF delaminating or getting discolored.

Compare the factory version to the CF version:
