Just saying thats where the torque is in these engines so he would be able to feel the pull. Sorry to hurt your feelings. And I disagree with your statement on all accounts..Stock for stock you would be seeing rear lights.

Please....

Umm , that's where the torque is in YOUR engine. VVT has a much bigger torque curve that starts well below yours. Believe what you will but stock for stock from a dig in 1st and your toast. The only thing that evens the two cars out is the big end on the LS3.

VVT cannot replace displacement, I'd be surprised if the V6 made more torque than the 6.2 liter V8 at any RPM. The V8 may make more torque at 1,800 rpm than the V6 makes at peak.

Also, from an off idle roll to, say, 100 mph, I'd be surprised if the V8 auto beat the V8 manual, all else being equal. I think he would keep his lunch money.

Maybe it is the lack of mods and I'm use to having mods on my car. With the Black Ice-Olator, Ported TB, CAI, and Exhaust it has really opened things up for me on my V6 that's opened things up. I'm in no way bashing the V8 and saying the V6 is better, I'm not an idiot, or anything like that. I'll have to try out another one and there are no manual transmission camaros in my small town so I'll probably head to Houston soon and test a one of each ove there.

DAFUQ?? You are aware the A6 V8 has a VVT cam and is essentially the same 6.2L 376ci displacement engine right?

The car feels like it sits higher (it wasn't the seat level) and is heavier. The throttle was sluggish compared to my V6 and even though it is a faster and more powerful car I felt mine was quicker. I don't know if it was just me but my car has minimal performance mods as of now but I felt like at least that V8 in particular let me down. Not sure if it was just that car or what but based on that I would just keep my v6. Not much of an improvement.
let me help you with that:

here's what i did, and mind you the stock tires on my 52k miled car are bald. and have been since i bought the car. i stepped out of a 4.56 geared 3v 2010 mustang gt running 12.80s running out of gear into this camaro and never looked back. i bought the car at 51k miles and before i even though about romping on it i bought a hyperjunk tuner on craigslist for 100 dollars and went to the track and ran 13.0s consistantly. i instantly forgot about my mustang and signed the papers for my l99. increased shift firmness with a junk tuner made my day, i couldn't imagine rhino getting ahold of her and making her an element to be feared. just my 2 cents. and i WAS a ford guy until this car, and i've weekend driven a 2013 brembo package mustang gt and the l99 was still the better car for me.

btw the 2013 went 12.92 in 1400 da but it still wasnt the car for me. this is saying alot considering it had all the bells and whitles. but i've never driven a v6 camaro, i might be missing out on some kind of magic...

I'm thinking a CAI alone would really open up the V8. Hopefully today or tomorrow I'll head out and look at some I already have lined up.

I know the 2010 has more mods, 2011 has the HUD, and 2012 has a different steering wheel. Is there any differences besides these small things. Performance wise?

"dafuq" and "huh, what?",

The original post was V6 vs V8, so if someone posts VVT without clarification, I'm thinking VVT V6 of which I'm familiar. I'm not familiar with the "VVT cam" in the L99, I suppose it helps close the power gap to the LS3.

Did not mean to confuse. Carry on.
