I towed my 11 ss recently on a uhaul trailer and it was very simple. Just needed to put some boards under the front tires on the trailer so it would clear.

Dude...this is Minnesnota. This chit doesn't stop until Mother Nature thinks we have had enough...apparently she isn't done yet.

There is a reason my Z was ordered less AC...

Definitely bring boards, and be prepared to use the natural terrain to aid you in getting a gentler angle. A little extra hitch height can really help you get started, don't be afraid to use the jack to unload the suspension of your tow vehicle to get the nose up on, then take the jack back up before you drive all the way up.

The ZL1 was pretty easy to load up, just a 2x6 in front of the ramp. The Z51 required a lot more playing around as it was lowered.

Also - removable fenders go a LONG way in making your life a lot easier getting in and out.

I did actually pull it home through all of that. The trailer has a rock guard on the front and she received a thorough bath upon arrival. Shes tucked away in the garage for the next few days.

To each their own. I would never do that. Heck my Z28, '13 427 Vette Corvette, '69 Chevelle and '57 T-Bird have never been in the rain...

The beauty of this forum 100 years from now is when somebody advertises a Z28 and it says never driven in the winter or completely stock a little research on this board may prove otherwise...

With a little digging on here one can find that I no longer have the factory motor in #918...

Meh.. these things sit outside in all kinds of weather before they are shipped to the dealer. Then the dealer lets it sit outside until the PDI is complete. Granted, I wouldn't want my personal Z near salt or snow, if I could help it, but I drive mine in the rain :no idea:

Well mine was delivered in an Enclosed trailer on a Saturday morning about 7 am to the dealer. I was there...Dec 27, 2014. Was unloaded outside and brought right inside. On Monday afternoon I pulled my Enclosed Trailer inside their shop and loaded it up and unloaded it into my heated shop. Minimal PDI done...I did the rest. Mounted the Splitter...ect...

Nope...not gonna drive mine in the rain...nope...just not going to do it.

Nice. Hopefully, it didn't sit outside for too long at the production plant while waiting to be picked up by that enclosed trailer. Sadly I have no choice but to occasionally drive mine in the rain. Charleston weather can be 0% chance of rain with sun then Mother Nature gets mad and gives us a random afternoon shower. If I wanted to avoid rain I'd have to move or keep it in the garage 24/7... nope... just not going to do it

Sorry... I was pretty darn sure it wouldn't fit. I kinda want to drive my Z to NE from CO to pick up a new truck and rent a trailer to get the Z home. But I know its impossible to rent one it will fit on. My trailer was set up special for my lowered Corvette and I am not sure how well the Z will even go on it.

Yes a camaro will fit like your SS, i fit my 2010 2ss on a U Haul trailer, tried to do the same with my 2014 Z/28 it had the front slitter off at the time, the bumper was hitting the trailer at the point where the tires stated to go on, then backed it up and added 2X8 so we get a better height, next was the fact that the only way to drive the car on was to drive the tires of the car on the trailer fenders.

That means the car is wider then there trailers, no way to lock the front tires, forget the part where you will take out the side skirts, so you know the Z/28 and the ZL1LE need a trailer that is 8 1/2 Ft wide, U Haul only has 8 Ft so 6" are going to ride on the trailer fender?
