Lightbulb Got A New IPod 160gb Classic For Christmas, Will The USB Port Charge The IPod ?

Hey Guys,.. How was your Christmas?
I have a 2SS on order and as the title states,... I got a new Ipod for X-Mas but I also got this 12 in 1 Accessory Kit for the Ipod which comes with a bunch of stuff I didnt know if i would need the Car Charger or not plus the home charge is a 1000mAH Charger and that's got to charge the Ipod a Heck of a lot faster than the Computer USB Port.

So does the 2SS USB Port Charge the Ipod while in use or does the Ipod run under it's own Battery. Should I return this Accessory Kit?
It's got some useful things in it. I'm trying to figure out what I should do just in case i might take a trip or something since I dont have the car yet and I dont know what it does yet.

Thanks for the help.

I know the usb port will charge the iphone, so i would bet it will charge the ipod. All you need is the charger that comes with the ipod.

Thumbs up

And it plays through that same white USB to Ipod Cord Right?

I dont need anything else for the 2SS?
All i bought was the Stock 2SS I did get my car built with any special connector options for the Ipod or anything.

Theres a Cord in the Box that looks like it would go to a Headphone Jack to a Headphone Jack, Do i need that?

Thanks for stopping by guys.

Jim

Open up the center console box and you should find a USB port in the back, on the bottom. Just plug the iPod cable into it and you're good to go. At least, I think it's that easy. Please, correct me if I'm wrong.

You need the white cable with the two flat connectors. There is a USB connector as referenced above in the jockeybox center console. The 2SS should have it but there is a cover over it. I use a USB extension cable so I can switch from iPhone to thumbdrive without fiddling with the cover.

If you use the mini-stereo cable-- that doesn't charge the iPod. Only the white cable with usb does. You'll want to use the white usb cable since it also allows you to control the ipod via steering wheel controls.

Well,... I meant to say that I didnt order any special options when i ordered the 2SS, I just ordered the Stock car as it was but I havent taken order on my car as of yet.
The TPW date is 01/11/10 I'm not sure how long it take to actually get your Car from that date everyone that I've looked at in their Sig seems to be different so I'm Guessing mine to be somewhere around 02/08/10 .

Sometimes it's Good to be in Florida and not somewhere like Nebraska where they probably have like a foot a Snow on the ground making it impossible to drive a Camaro around.

Anyway,.. Thanks guys for your help.
I'll probably end up keeping that Accessory kit because it has a screen protector in it some small external speakers that actually sound pretty good and go pretty loud, some case protectors an Audio splitter that allows me to plug my Ipod in to my home Stereo System,... Just some stuff that I think i'll find useful.

But Thanks again for your help with the Information about the charging information, At least now i know that i dont have to have the Cig lighter thingy attached to the Ipod while using all the time.

So far I have 5.7 Days worth of Music added to my Ipod.

How the hell do you ever find a song that you want to listen to while your trying to drive when all the songs are in one huge list of music?

Mine is just "w00t radio". When songs I don't feel like listening to come on w00t radio, I just tell the DJ to skip to the next song. The only time I really go looking for something specific is if I have something new that I just added.

Is it live Radio some how or recorded on a memory card? it sounds interesting tho.

LOL. I was just saying that it's my own personal 'radio station' made up of all the songs I have on my USB/iPod, not an actual radio station. If you've got a lot of music, it basically just turns into a radio station with music you've chosen.
