Unfortunately the blend door breaking it is very common issue and it is important that you understand why it breaks. If not, it will break again in a few years.

Word on the street is to not turn your AC knob anywhere near the Max setting. I've solved this problem by never running my AC. That's what windows are for.

The funny thing is... I never use my AC, only when my wife is in the car which is like once a month. Ironically, this lead me to believe that my AC would last forever because I barely ever use it. Well... Yeah...

I thought the door cycled every time the ignition was turned on?

I have been doing this since I got it and mine just went last month. Pissed me off. I still have not decided what to do. It still comes out somewhat cold but in the winter I will have no heat and I do drive mine in the winter.

Great. That was my fear. I was hoping that by not using the AC at all I would extend the life of the blend door (I need heat in the winter but can easily go w/o AC in the summer). I guess the cycling of the blend door is all it takes?

yup.since i live in florida i just unplugged the solenoid when it was in the cool position with the car running and left it.im thinking if i needed heat id wait until fall and plug it in,turn to the warm side and unplug it again, but for 3 days i could probably do without the heater.

I got this fixed for $218 plus $29 for the door. I can be done WITHOUT removing the dash and windshield

Why didn’t you specify how it was done in your first post? Tell us how or you’re a troll

Hot on drivers side, cold on pass side. Replace the actuator above the gas pedal, didn't fix it. It was low on freon, blows ice cold now.
