CAMARO 2012 BIG ISSUE .. NEED HELP .. SOS .. SOL ..

hello everybody my name is Ricky i own a 2012 Camaro manual v6 and I'm having v5 reference codes. ABS light, traction control light, and stabilitrak light is on... a lot of people are telling me to replace my ECM but as I'm sure you all are aware of the ECMs for the 5th gen Camaro is discontinued.

problem/ and what i noticed:
most times car starts with a nasty misfire(sounds as if only half of the engine is running .. i would usually have to turn the car off, take the key out of the ignition, press lock and unlock and retry to start it again. this continues for about 10-15 tries. than it finally starts normal.

i changed my speed sensors all around and the two rear sensors registered and is reading but the front sensors are not. (I think that has something to do with the ABS module).

PARTS I CHANGED SO FAR DUE TO SCANNING AND MY OWN RESEARCH:
-STARTER
-OIL PRESSURE SENSOR
-SPARK PLUGS
-ABS SENSORS/SPEED SENSORS
-EVAP PURGE SOLENOID
-THROTTLE BODY
-ACCELERATOR PEDAL(APP SENSOR)

AT THIS POINT IM LOST .. IM STILL HAVING THE 5V REFERENCE CODES AND IM JUST TRYING TO GET MY CAR BACK ON THE ROAD.

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK AND IF YOU HAVE ANY DIRECTIONS TO POINT ME IN FEEL FREE TO SEND THEM MY WAY

Runs fine once started? Battery voltage good? How old is the battery?

Check your battery health! These Camaros do some really funky things when the battery is on its way out. Christmas tree lights on the dash, won't idle properly, stibilitrac lights, everything.. You may just have a very weak battery and needs replacing.

What are the actual trouble codes. The abs/traction control lights often turn on because those systems are inactive due to a problem somewhere else. It doesn't mean that you have multiple failures on all of those modules or that they are not communicating.

What codes are you getting now. Doubtful its the ECM, did you change anything or wash the engine before this started acting up? Its going into limp mode because a sensor is reading out of expected value.

No didn’t wash the engine or anything like that .. Im getting code :P0651, P0697, P0641, P06A3 .. honestly it was just sitting for a while . And sometimes I get a “press the clutch pedal to start” light and Im pressing the pedals and I said the Samething because i feel if I did have a ECM issue the car wouldn’t start at all.

Thank you all for your help I appreciate the time

The first 3 codes you listed are for a problem with all 3 of the 5 volt reference circuits. My 2010 manual doesn’t list your P06A3. I don’t know if that is a valid code for a 2012 but an internet search for that shows it may also be related to the 5v reference circuit. I do show a p06a6 that is also a 5v reference circuit. Either you have a serious wiring problem somewhere or maybe the ECM is starting to fail, but I don’t know how the ECM supplies the 5v to different circuits. I would thoroughly inspect the wiring harness for issues (mouse chewing) and clean all of the grounds for the ECM. Beyond that it’s probably going to take someone good at electrical troubleshooting to either confirm the ECM as the issue or figure out what else is going on. But to have an issue with all 3 5v circuits seems less likely to be a wiring issue since I would think damaged wiring would hit more random things.

Yea I spoke with a few mechanic friends of mines and they all said I should start with the ECM because the Camaros have shit ECM problems and they do tend to go bad. All of them recommended the Same thing start with the ECM CHANGE . So have said it could be a bad ground connection.

There haven’t been a lot of ECM failures reported on here but it does happen.

Have you tried an idle relearn procedure?
