I'm not sure how GM feels about the response the 1LE has received so far but I was expecting more of an interest than what I've seen on this site. We need more pics and some video of this thing in action! I'm already sold, I just want others to be as well.

Not if you are going to badge it "1LE". Now Z28, there should have been a Z28 from the beginning.

I maybe incorrect in my order code history, but isn't the 1LE the first code used in the past when you wanted to build up to a Z-28?

Now I am excited! This car needs to be built. The ZL1 is great, but to me it is a halo car. This I have a shot at.

I think there should be more of a seperation between 1le and ZL1. More of a striped down SS with coil overs on each corner, good brakes, and a high revving 5.7 DI engine.

What's the chance we'll get a 5th gen. emblem.....mated Z/28?

As light and balanced as possible... Honestly, I'd even like to see 18-19" wheel/tires on it OEM. High reving version of an LSx motor. No leather interior. No power adjustable seats. No Nav. No high powered stereo.. Race specific seating.. Hell, go Boss LS on it and pull the rear seat completely. Full suspension compliment from the likes of our usual aftermarket vendors.

If it's going to be pushed, built and sold as a road racer, it shouldn't look and feel like a luxury coupe on the inside.

scott,my personal feeling on this car is if GM is not going to come out with a Z28 i would build the 1LE.if the Z28 is going to happen, then i would not build it.the 1LE is a great car,i remember it from the old days.for the consumer it is great to have options in buying a car,but GM is trying to make money so i realize you can't flood the market with 25 different badges for the same model.
i would probably not get a 1LE,but you put Z28 badges on it and i would have to have one.

Curious, where was there any mention of the 1LE being Z28?

Remember, folks, there's TWO BOSS Mustangs available...

1LE = Base BOSS, in price AND result

Z/28 = BOSS LS...and would require more "steam" in the "boiler room".

1LE - with Ram air

Add the ram air option as shown in some of the spy photos. That would make the car perfect and distinguish it from the other models.

Camaro 1LE Concept

Born in the Camaro’s third generation and refined further in the fourth generation as a road-racing performance package, the legendary 1LE option code designation returns to the Camaro as a concept intended to carve up road courses. While only a concept, it borrows production components from both the Camaro SS and forthcoming Camaro ZL1 to deliver a competition-ready package. Hash mark graphics on the front fender are pure Chevrolet racing cues, too.

Vehicle highlights:

■Victory Red exterior color, with flat black hood and hash mark extensions
■Satin black splitter, rocker panels, rear spoiler and outside mirrors
■Sport suspension featuring Magnetic Ride Control
■Electric power steering
■Six-speed manual close-ratio transmission
■Lightweight 20x10-inch (front) and 20x11-inch (rear) racing wheels (satin black)
■Goodyear® Eagle F1 Supercar G asymmetrical tires (from the ZL1)
■Brembo® six-piston front calipers, with two-piece front rotors, and four-piston rear calipers (Chevrolet Official Licensed Product)
■Dual exhaust outlets with ZL1-style active exhaust and diffuser
■Shock tower brace
■Chevrolet Accessories red engine cover
■Black leather interior with Light Stone stitching
■Graphite Silver door and instrument panel inserts
■ZL1 shifter with Light Stone stitching
■ZL1 flat-bottom steering wheel
■Chevrolet Accessories pedal kit
“The Camaro 1LE concept is all about the track,” said Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer for the Camaro. “It’s an all-out race car package that pays tribute to that special option from the past.”
I would rather have this than a ZL-1, Scott. It screams Z-28 at me If you build it, we will buy
