2013 Camaro SS with 1LE Package

I have heard varying information about the 1LE Performance Package Availability.

Will the 1LE Package be on the First Build Cycle in early June ? at Model Changeover or will if be on a later Build Cycle ?

Any hard Information yet ? I know Dealers will gladly take orders but when will the cars be built ?

Will it be like ZL1 Orders ? ..... I have talked to all of the dealers in my area about 2013 ZL1's and they all have a waiting list a mile long going back to 2012's and have said my chances are ZERO.... at getting one because they have not received one YET ...and they say they will be lucky to get.... ONE !

Also, if your dealer hasn't received a ZL1 allocation by now they probably aren't getting one.

Thanks, I have seen all of this ...... but I'm Wondering will Chevy start Building SS's with this Package in June ? ...... as I have heard that we may not see SS's with this package until maybe December or January.

1LE is not a special ordered car/edition..its an option package, a track package option if you will. I called my local chevy dealer about it and they said I could order an SS and just pay the difference for the 1LE option. He didnt have the price though but he confirmed its an option for 2013.

I would love for fbodfather to chime in on this, but the order with 1LE took, I have an order number and I am signed up for tracking. I will post as soon as it moves from 1100, which I would not expect to happen before May 10 on ANY 2013 Camaro, but who knows?

If you believe Chevy's press release, you won't be seeing a 1LE before the last week of September. I, like many others, don't want to believe that. With the exception of the 3.91 gears and 1LE shocks, Chevy already has all of the parts to produce this car. There really isn't any reason it couldn't be produced right away. It might depend on the demand for this car. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be a high demand for it. It is a specific car for a specific group of enthusiasts. I think most people would probably prefer an SS or a ZL1. We'll have to wait and see. Just remember, anything worth having is worth waiting for.

Ok, finally some new info on 1LE ordering. 1LE cars will not begin production until August, with limited order placements in June and NONE in May. That probably means the first ones on the street will be early September.

I heard the same. Even though I'm not ordering till march/April I'm really anxious to see these on this site and on the street. Hopefully the active exhaust for the SS will be available at the start of 2013 production so we can at least hear what one sounds like.

If I buy another Camaro, it would be the 1LE...

If I had waited to buy my Camaro the 1LE would have been it...lighter wheels, wider tires, better suspension, 3.91 rear, better tranny, stronger fuel pump...Had they put a 427 ci under that hood my SS would be for sale right now! Still...the 1LE needs only a little modding, stroke it or supercharge it (or both) and you are done!
