For those with OBX headers, I ask you.

Are you running no cats using the test pipes? Rasp or Rice?

Also, what o2 cables are you using? The headers are sold without them.

I think most of the ppl that are using those run the test pipes that come with the cats.. and for the o2 extensions, u need to buy them from a vendor.. I dont remember the name of the brand that most people buy.. but make sure u buy 4 cuz the rear ones get pretty streched if u dont use extensions too

Yes, the OBX comes with a test pipe.

Yes, it will have a RASP sound which is why many of us have removed the H - Pipe and installed the Magnaflow Resonated X-Pipe.

Check out my thread I started for the OBX's I installed.

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...&highlight=obx

These are the O2 extension I used.

O2 Extensions 12" (O2EXT-4T-12T - 4T 12)

I bought them from Racetronix.com

Hope this helps.

I noticed from my BBKs which are 5/8 with cats and the OBX are 3/4 no cats. Any extra gains from this?

I am sure there is variations in Torque between 1 5/8 and 1 3/4 at different RPM's and its probably more noticeable on a V8 not so much on a V6. People in the Corvette Forums mentioned something like that. Anyways..

I have replace all the cables since the are burnt.

Will these work? I have to replace my O2 cables since they were melted from heat when I got my BBK's installed. (Dealer's fault btw)

I need to install the x-pipe. However I love the headers, I installed them myself. I used pypes high flow cats and I didn't need the o2 extention. The cables reached for me once I clipped a plastic screw holding them back. You will see once you get under the car.

I do have 2 problems though.

1. There is a weird metallic almost static sound at low rpm and on start up. Has anyone heard this before? I wonder if it is because of the chrome?
2. I smell exhaust, and leave a cloud of smoke if I step on it. I think I am running rich, I need to get it retuned.

I remember seeing janetty test the differences and there were pretty much none until a 2". And that was on a v8. It'll be pretty much nonexistent on a 6

You might need an upper induction clean or seafoam treatment. Could invest in a catch can, I notice I burn a bit of smoke every once and awhile but I am not using a catch can. I am going to have to treat my engine sooner or later. Anyone have recommendations for what I need to replace my burnt cables?

No, a pair of those is all you need for cables.

Alright thanks. I hope these hold out better than my BBK header cables those melted because the tech left them loose banging up beside the transmission. I tied them down after discovering that but since I cant get rid of that rattle noise with my headers I am just installing new headers, new gaskets, and new bolts.
