All myLink ads should state this imo, sucks that it has to be that way but would help all parties involved.

Kudos and glws

I was speaking with Jarod from Gen5DIY yesterday regarding a Navigation unit that a previous owner has a label attached saying "Programed 8/19 VIN Cleared"! There are people out there that can clear the VIN so you believe these will now work in any vehicle. Wrong.... they may work for a period of time but you will start loosing portions of the stereo/navigation after a while.

It is costly to have the system reprogramed but they are then bench checked, programed with YOUR VIN number, latest maps installed, you can have the Boston Acoustic programmed in, programming also adds the back up lines for your camera and finally disables the motion lock. With the newly programmed unit you can now telephone OnStar or XM and give them your VIN and all comes to life.

Everyone keeps saying that the 14/15 cars are plug and play. But when I spoke with Gen5diy they said you still need the cables and harness.
